Hello PW !
This week, the spotlight is set on LostTear, a faction on Raging Tide server.
I interviewed its leader, YamamoriYuki :
Drakaniel : When was created your guild and who did it ?
YamamoriYuki : It was created early 2010 by my current shop alt, Mayfly. It went inactive for a while under another of my alts, Sacagaweia, but later the faction I had joined broke up, and I decided to reconstitute it (r. LostTears).
D : Did it have a goal at its creation ?
YY : No, no goals, just having fun together and helping each other.
D : What do you like the most about your guild ?
YY : The friends I have in it, definitly.
D : Does your guild have particular relations with an other guild, like an alliance or else ?
YY : No.
D : How many members do you have and how many are active ? What’s the average number of online people ?
YY : Currently 99 are on the roster, but many are alts. On average, about half a dozen may be on line during the evening.
D : Do you often do “guild only” instance ?
YY : Yes.
D : Oh that’s very nice ! It’s not that common compared to “before Raging Tide” and the implement of BHs… And Territory Wars : you do ? You want to ? Why/Why not ?
YY : We had two, taking Sundown Highlands with 8 people in an hour right after the map reset, and losing it the next week (as I expected) with 6 people, also in an hour, against 3 times our number. I have no plans on doing any more, we just don’t have enough people.
D : What do you find the most difficult in leading a guild ?
YY : Finding quality recruits.
D : That’s the hard time every guild leader has, I guess… Do you have forums or such ? How about the member’s activity there ?
YY : We have a forum (http://losttears.freeforums.org), but it’s hardly used.
D : What’s the role of your officers in the guild’s life ?
YY : They’re mostly the most active members.
D : In your opinion, what is the biggest problem in today’s members behaviour ? Why do you think there are so many guildless people ?
YY : I don’t have too many problems with my members, mostly because we’re small and fairly close knit. Perhaps the reason there are so many guildless people is because they have had bad experiences with factions in the past, or have leveled so fast they didn’t squad in open world and meet a congenial faction as we used to do before BH was introduced.
